Putonghua and Other Study Programs For Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Individuals

Specialized Putonghua Programs for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan students and teacher trainees are offered through the Beijing Language and Culture University's Standardized Spoken Chinese Training Center.

Designed especially for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan students who normally speak Cantonese or Taiwanese, the Programs focus on conversation and pronunciation correction. The aim of this Training Centre is to help compatriots from these areas to become proficient in their Mandarin speaking skills.

Targeted students would then be people whose mother tongues are English or Portugese, with knowledge of Cantonese, Kejia dialect or southern Fujian dialects; or those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan whose principal means of oral communication are one or more of the above dialects.

The Mandarin Programs for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan students are tactically designed to provide complete immersion, offering the most comprehensive and balanced curriculum. With in-class instructions and out-of-class activities, the Putonghua Programs incorporate all aspects of the Chinese language, including phonetics, listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, and colloquial speech. These will enable participants to improve their Mandarin pronunciation, intonation, and oral communication abilities. Additionally, out-of-class activities enable students to gain an in-depth understanding of Mainland Chinese culture and way of life.
