Teachers

Putonghua Language Teachers :

Friendly and professional, all the University teachers teaching the Mandarin language classes are native Putonghua speakers and have degrees in teaching Chinese as a second language. They are highly trained, qualified, and active in curriculum development. With many years of experience, they are keen to pass their knowledge and help you succeed in learning the Chinese language.

China Business Teachers :

All of the business classes are taught by outstanding professors from famous universities in China. Many of the professors have studied abroad and also have a lot of practical experience in China.

Teaching Materials

Textbooks and handouts given in class are carefully selected according to different learning levels to enable students to have fun, and be stimulated and challenged at the same time.

Textbooks, as well as a Chinese-English dictionary, are provided by PRC Study and included in the Putonghua Program fee. Cassette tapes can be purchased at an additional fee.

Teaching Topics

Below are topics that could be covered in the Putonghua classes and Business component. Why the "could be covered" . that's cause it depends on the length of the program you are enrolled in. The longer the program length, the more topics that will be covered and the more in-depth it will likely be.

In addition, for the Putonghua language classes, students at the beginners level will be taught simpler topics, while advanced level students will be presented with more complex and specialized subject matters

Topics covered in the Putonghua Language Classes could include :

Everyday lifestyle situations, current affairs, as well as Chinese history, culture, society.

Topics covered in the Business Putonghua Language Classes could include :

Everyday business situations, economy, banking and finance, current affairs, Chinese history, culture and society, and much more. The aims are to improve students' spoken and listening proficiency in business Putonghua, as well as their Chinese business writing and newspaper reading skills.

Topics covered in the China Business Component could include :

Business Practice and Doing Business in China; Economic Profile and Current Market Situations; Foreign Trade Environment; Financial System and Different Forms of Foreign Investment; Historical, Political and Cultural Environment; Legal System and Structure; Political Framework and Recent Reforms and the likes.

Teaching Methods and Focus

PRC Study programs are carefully designed to promote accelerated comprehensive learning through total immersion. Classroom instructions provide structured learning, enabling learners of all levels to achieve expedited progress in Chinese language skills within a short period of time. Out-of-class activities provide insight into China's culture and lifestyle.

Chinese Language Proficiency and Placement Test

Students are first placed according to the Chinese language proficiency level they indicate on the application form. During the morning of your first class day, you will be tested in three areas: grammar, comprehension, and fluency. Based on the test results, you will be place d in a class best suited to your current comprehension and fluency level. The class will be both comfortable and challenging.

Chinese Language Proficiency is divided into 5 levels.

Elementary (Level B)

More than 800

Intermediate (Level C)

More than 1500

Advanced (Level D)

More than 2500

Super Advanced (Level E)

Student Development Assessment and Quality Assurance Team

Students' Chinese language development progress is regularly assessed by homework assignments and tests throughout the program. Semester and academic year programs also have formal mid-terms and final examinations. Attendance is mandatory. Students are awarded certificates at the end of their study program.

In addition, PRC Study Quality Assurance team will closely monitor the programs offered by the Universities and ensure that they are providing the best educational services by giving them student feedbacks.
