UIBE is located in Haidian District, in the northeastern part of Beijing. Covering an area of 33 hectares, with a floor space of about 265,000 sqm, the campus is conveniently located with easy access to all areas of the city. UIBE is 10 kilometers from Tiananmen Square (city center), 9 kilometers from Beijing Railway Station, 22 kilometers from Beijing West Railway Station, 25 kilometers from Beijing International Airport, and 8 kilometers from the foreign embassy district.
Many well-known organizations are located near the university, including China Daily, Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital, Chinese Medical University, Asian Games Village, and the Lufthansa Center. In addition, there are also many shops, supermarkets and hundreds of restaurants within the campus vicinity.

TRANSPORTATION NEAR AND AROUND UIBE |
UIBE is located in the northwest district of Beijing and boasts convenient public transportation. Students have easy access to buses and taxis as they are all found within close walking distance and the subway is not far away from the University. back to top

UIBE is on the 18, 62, 119, 406, 409, 367, and 807 bus routes, which run close to the campus and can take passengers to the subway, direct to the city center or to locations where students can easily transfer to other bus lines. Fares for ordinary buses cost anywhere from 1 to 3 RMB, and the fares for smaller buses costs about 2 RMB. back to top

The closest skytrain station to UIBE is in Tai Yang Gong, which is about a 10 minutes walk from the University's east gate. You can transfer from the Tai Yang Gong Skytrain to the subway lines or take a bus directly to Yonghegong or Dongzhimen subway stations. Transportation fares costs between 3 to 5 RMB, depending on whether you transfer between skytrain and subway. back to top
 Taxis are easily found within and outside of the UIBE campus area. Taxi fares range from 1.20, 1.60 to 2.0 RMB per kilometer, depending on type of taxi cab chosen. A taxi trip from UIBE to the Beijing airport takes about 30 minutes.

The easiest way to get around UIBE campus is to ride a bicycle. Bicycles can be rented or purchased at the bike shops on campus. For people in Beijing, bicycles are one of the most popular forms of transportation. You can rent bicycles for 20-30RMB per day, or buy a pretty reliable one from 150-500RMB. Parking your bike is easy as there are many places to park bikes all over the city and the charge for this service is less than 1RMB.
Those purchasing bicycles are required to register their bicycles by showing their purchase invoice and passport to the transportation administration department and pay a bicycle tax in order to obtain bicycle licenses. Those buying second-hand bicycles are required to go through a transfer of ownership procedure. These processes may sound cumbersome, but don't worry, a PRC Study staff can assist you.

Foreigner students driving motor vehicles, including motorcycles and or scooters, must register with the UIBE's Security Office with the student ID Card, valid driver's license and vehicle driving card to obtain a campus-driving permit. Please note, when riding bicycles or driving vehicles, the vehicle operator must abide by Chinese traffic rules and refrain from speeding. Therefore, foreign students operating any vehicles are advised to pay special attention to transportation safety.
