Dalian's Climate
It is fairly windy in Dalian, due to the powerful Yellow Sea
draughts that hit the jutting peninsular with refreshing fury. But the perennial current from the ocean helps moisten the
air, making it fresher to breathe than some of China's other
heavily industrial cities. As a world renowned summer resort,
Dalian is at its most attractive between April and October.
Like most of northern China, the climate in Dalian is generally
hot in the summer and very cold in winter. Summer temperatures
average about 30ˇăC (86 oF), but since Dalian is a port city,
it is sometimes plagued by monsoon. In winter, the temperature
can drop to as low as -17oC (1 oF).
