Guangzhou is truly a "Shoppers' Paradise". The Shangxia Jiu Road, Teem Plaza area, Zhuangyuanfang, Beijing Road, Changshou Road and Nonglin Road are the most prosperous commercial areas. The supermarket behind the World Trade Center and the Daily Living Store, is particularly good for imported wine. The Chinese Plaza and Tianhe Plaza are the best shopping malls. Longjin Road contains an antiques market and small antiques as well as curio shops.
Some of the famous Guangzhou local products include:
- Canton Sculpture which includes Canton Ivory Carvings, Jade Sculpture, Wood Sculpture and Olive Sculpture.
- The Canton Enamel (also known as Guangzhou's colourful pottery) with a history of over 300 years.
- Canton Embroidery, namely Yue Embroidery, is one of the Four Famous Chinese Embroideries together with Su Embroidery, Xiang Embroidery and Shu Embroidery.
- Canton Bacon is the general designation of cured meat in the Guangzhou Area.
- Wang Laoji Herbal Tea is a kind of medicine that is healthy for the human body.

The Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street is located in the Liwan District of Guangzhou. It is a prosperous traditional commercial district, the first commercial pedestrian street in Guangzhou and is the most influential traditional commercial street in Guangzhou. The old building style on both sides of the road that exists in Guangzhou and its neighboring areas, reflects the strong Lingnan Culture.
This street has more than 200 stores and where brand name restaurants and teahouses can be found. Shangxiajiu is restricted to pedestrians only. Even without buying anything, people would be able to feel the cultural atmosphere just walking down this street.

center of Guangzhou City. It is very fashionable and traditional
at the same time, and it is filled with many young people. At

Beijing Road is the central axis of ancient Guangzhou city and
the most prosperous commercial distribution center in Guangzhou's
history. Around Beijing Road, Guangzhou's colorful historical
views and cultural relics remain. Beijing Road is where initial

Zhuangyuan Fang (Number One Scholar Lane) on Renmin South Road in Guangzhou is famous for its Japanese and Korean fashion. Although it is a small lane less than 200 meters long, the Zhuangyuan Fang attracts numerous visitors with its fashionable clothes, ornaments, and small articles that are popular with young people.
The most famous malls are Teem Plaza and China Plaza (Zhonghua Guangcheng). The Teem Plaza has become the new commercial center of Guangzhou. Here boutiques, shops and restaurants come together.

Hualin Jadeware Street & Wende Calligraphy and Painting Street are located on Xiajiu Road and Hualin Jadeware Street in Guangzhou. Presently, hundreds of jade ware stores are found here. Best quality jades from Burma and Yunnan Province are made into jade bracelets, rings and other wares.
Wende Calligraphy and Painting Street which neighbors the Beijing Road is known as 'Guangzhou Gallery'. Stores selling works of calligraphy and craftworks line both sides of the road.

Likely to be known by the whole of Guangzhou's expat community, Aussinos is the city's leading import food store. Despite being a small store they cram an incredible number of products, primarily aimed to North American customers. If you are looking for quality cheeses and meats then this is the place to come. They have a lot of wines, olive oils (although identical products can be bought elsewhere at the same price), and snacks. The staff are very friendly and all speak English.

Guangzhou's blossoming middle class has resulted in an explosion of foreign-styled cafes, and Friends Daily is no exception. As well as offering a well-styled place to sit and relax, Friends Daily also has a selection of imported foods and wines, as well as free internet access. While the quality of other items may be high, the Hot Chocolate is not and was almost undrinkable.
