PRC Study's China programs and Chinese classes have been tactically designed to provide complete and total immersion into each area of study as we offer the most comprehensive and balanced curriculum in and out of the classroom.

The structured Mandarin Chinese language classes incorporates all aspects of the Chinese language including, speaking, reading, writing, listening, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, phonetics, and pronunciation.

PRC Study offers extra-curricular elective workshops to further help participants with their Chinese language and cultural learning experience. Elective workshops are made up of a series of classes and are held either in the morning, afternoon or early evening.

Taught by qualified and experienced teachers or experts, the electives may focus on language development skills, martial arts or learning more about Chinese culture, history and art. PRC Study provides one-on-one after class tutorial lessons for students, which has proven effective in advancing students' Chinese linguistics skills. Tutors are native Chinese teachers, certified in teaching Mandarin Chinese as a second language and are familiar with the PRC Study Academy and partnering universities language curricula.

Tutors offer invaluable personal support and assistance in monitoring individual progress throughout the study program and can assist students with language coaching, homework assignments, conversational practice, tips and advice, & more.

For Martial Arts students, wushu masters provide open training sessions designed to enhance techniques learned in class.

You ever find that you want more time to learn a language at your own speed and pace. In class instructions with real life teachers is an absolute requirement because such classes provide structure in our learning and motivates us. But what happens you are not in class? Yes, we offer tutors and language buddies, but it may not be possible to be with them 24 hours a day. In fact, sometimes you may just want to study and learn at your own pace. In that case, PRC Study also has a perfect solution.

We have proprietary multi-media learning software to compliment our teaching curriculum for which students can use on PRC Study premise during non-scheduled class times. This software corresponds with different Chinese proficiency levels and to the text books and materials which students use in class. You can use the courseware and progress at your own individual comfort and speed to constantly reinforce what you have learned in class. Our multi-media courseware provides an additional benefit in helping students to master Mandarin Chinese as it offers:

• Practical and academic theme based content
• Conversational practices using standardized Mandarin in real life situations
• Simplified and traditional Chinese characters
• Text based interaction with sounds, pinyin and English assistance
• Reinforcement of the basic foundational pinyin to help students improve on their Chinese pronunciation and sound recognition

• Motivating quizzes and word differentiation exercises to help build vocabulary, improve comprehension, listening and reading skills, and understanding of Chinese grammar
• Detailed learning report after drills and will identify language errors in order to gage progress

• Mandarin for every day living, as well as Mandarin for business and traveling

Students can greatly benefit in advancing in their Chinese language studies by doing their homework. However, we realize that it may be difficult sometimes for a student to do homework alone, especially when a student encounters difficult areas or have questions.

In order to help students, PRC Study organizes regularly scheduled "Supervised Homework Support" from Monday to Friday within a structured setting after-class, where a qualified teacher will be present to help students with their homework assignments and to answer any questions they may have. This has proven effective in helping students learn and improve their Chinese language skills more quickly and efficiently, while minimizing any stumbling blocks.

Interacting with locals is an essential part of the immersion program. At the start of the program, PRC Study arranges for each student to have several local Chinese students as language buddies. We feel that introducing more language buddies to our students is crucial in helping with the immersion experience, as this could offer a multi-dimensional perspective to Chinese way of life.

Not only does this provide the perfect opportunity to practice Mandarin Chinese, it also enables cultural and social exchange and an opportunity to make new friends who may have different interests.

PRC Study arranges a structured language exchange meeting for foreign and Chinese students once a week where we offer various handouts in English and Chinese to help our students learn many useful Chinese words and phrases not regularly taught in the classrooms. The Language Exchange Program is then very suitable for Chinese language learners from beginners to advance.

Other than our regularly scheduled language exchange meetings, students can meet each other at their own convenience. Additionally, Chinese students often join PRC Study's social activities and outings, again giving more chances for foreign students to practice speaking Mandarin Chinese.

Our Language Lab is adjacent to the PRC Study student lounge and uses audio equipment specifically designed for language learning. Use includes access to a large amount of listening media all of which makes for interesting and informative Mandarin Chinese learning. Designed to match your textbooks, these tapes are optimal for practicing your Chinese listening ability. You can also improve your own Chinese pronunciation by recording your own voice and comparing it to the tape.

The PRC Study library consists not only of Chinese language books and dictionaries to help you in your Chinese language studies, but also a reference section on Chinese culture, history, art and society. There are also additional sections for books on other foreign languages, novels and reference materials on different subjects.

PRC Study also realizes that an added advantage in learning Mandarin Chinese quickly and effectively is to get deep into the Chinese's rich and colourful culture and society.

As such, PRC Study organizes social and cultural activities, sporting activities, guided tours to visit landmarks in and around Beijing, throughout the week to help you apply what you have learnt in class in out-of-class settings as well as allow you to get better acquainted with fellow students, as well as with local Beijingers.

rom time to time, PRC Study will organize weekend excursions to places like Shanghai, Shaolin Temple, Tianjin, Datong, Xian, Wuhan, Inner Mongolia, etc.

At the same time we also give out reference materials for each of the sightseeing attractions so that you can read about the historical aspects as well as learn more about Chinese culture. Additionally, for each organized activity we always introduce Chinese key words and phrases so that students can practice speaking Chinese while on the outing.

Students' progress and development is regularly assessed by homework assignments and tests throughout the program. Semester and academic year programs also have formal mid-terms and final examinations. Attendance is mandatory. Students are awarded certificates at the end of their study program. (For martial arts programs, students may receive a certificate or medals from competitions from the martial arts school attended.)

In addition, PRC Study's Quality Assurance team frequently asks for student feedbacks, and we closely monitor the schools' programs ensuring that the best educational services are provided.

We encourage our students to speak Mandarin Chinese wherever possible, for that will help students excel in their Chinese language skills much faster. Whenever possible, PRC Study also invites the participation of Chinese students, giving more opportunities for the foreign students to practice Chinese and to learn more about the Chinese culture and way of life!
